Palestinians Announce Plans For Presidential Election
The surprise announcement of elections by September was apparently prompted by the political unrest spreading in the Arab world. The statement came as longtime chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat resigned following leaks about proposed concessions to Israel.
