Ex-Maryland Gov. William Donald Schaefer Dies At 89
Schaefer spent two four-year terms as governor. Before that, as Baltimore's mayor, he made headlines for transforming the city's aging downtown into a tourist destination. Always a salesman for the city, he once jumped into a seal pool while wearing a turn-of-the century bathing costume.
