Officials: Fatah, Hamas Reach Deal To End Rift
The plan calls for the formation of a single caretaker government and preparations to hold presidential and legislative elections. The deal would end years-long divisions between the rival governments in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Israel immediately rejected the prospect of a Palestinian government including Hamas, and the U.S. expressed similar concerns.
