A Congress Liberals Should Love
David Paul Kuhn, RealClearPoliticsIt was the most liberal Congress since the 1960s. The 111th Congress adjourned Wednesday to no progressive ticker-tape parade. But liberals will likely not see a more progressive Congress for at least a generation, if not several.The "professional left" is hardly pleased. Even rank-and-file Democrats turned against this Congress in its final weeks. In November, about three-in-10 Democrats still approved of Congress. Half that portion approve today.
