The Tea Party has energized conservatives around the country, and has made headlines since its birth, but John Nichols of The Nation argues that it was the reason the GOP was unable to win control of the senate in this week's midterm elections. In many cases a Tea Party candidate unseated an established republican in the primary, only to lose to a Democrat later on.
